1976 TVR 3000M Martin 3. There were only 10 Martins produce in 1976 –ultra rare limited edition.
A rare Limited Edition (10 numbered cars) Anniversary car of the TVR marque celebrating 10 years of Martin Lilley ownership of the company.
This car is number 3, built August 1976.
These were special 1976 TVR 3000M cars, in tobacco leaf body colour with Mexico brown striping and brown vinyl roof, special numbered commemorative plate on door sills and each car was individually numbered externally.
The car has an extensive history file naming all eight former owners, plus the original TVR Owners Handbook, receipts and records for servicing and parts.
Most MOTs are present verifying the low mileage of around 61k. This car is still on its restored original chassis, chassis number 3600FM
Mr J Lucas (sixth owner) bought the car in 1996 and in the November of that year started a complete body off restoration (photos in folder). David Gerald TVR completely rewired the car. He owned the car until June 2004. Mr D Martin (seventh owner) in 2004 had the 3 litre Essex v6 engine rebuilt at 56,872 miles to run on unleaded fuel replacing the clutch and adding some very sporty blue aluminum rocker covers. This work was carried out by Ric Wood the engine builders.
In 2005 the gear box was replaced with a 5 speed type 9 gearbox along with bell housing and rebuilt drive shafts also carried out by Ric Wood. The differential was replaced in July 2011
Interior is in oatmeal and brown, It has recently had the carpets replaced, but not the rest of the interior – seats, door cards, head lining etc which are factory 42 year old original. Has an original 1976 tape deck. It also has the original steering wheel and original light switches, which given the factory fire in 1976 could well be unique to martin 3. This Martin 3 car has the heated rear window in working order as well. It has tinted Glass and is still sitting on original wolfrace aluminium wheels.
So this 3rd out of 10 Limited Edition Anniversary Cars, has only covered 61k miles in its 42 years, known history and documentation showing a body off chassis restoration, complete rewire, engine rebuild (unleaded) and a five speed gearbox. A rare opportunity to acquire the most sought after 3000M?
