Lotus Esprit Turbo Series 3
First registered on Aug 3rd 1984, this is perhaps one of the most iconic cars of the eighties. Finished in JPS colours of solid black with Gold, this Turbo Esprit was the posterchild of the yuppie brigade! Sitting in and driving this car it takes you back to a time of big hair, big sunglasses and shoulder pads, big spoilers and in this case, big turbo’s! it is almost obligatory to have the original pioneer stereo permanently tuned into Duran Duran etc!
This stunning car has only 45,252 miles on the clock, and engine was fully rebuilt about 4,000 miles ago a cost of over £10k. The carburettors have been fully refurbed about 6 months ago and the turbo waste gate has been replaced. The car has now been run in and certainly has serious pace for a car of its age, once the big turbo spools up the boost pins you in your bucket seat. The front brake calipers have recently been replaced, and also a recent belt service less than 1k ago.
The very original Interior is very good with minimal wear on the central column and driver seat, new carpets and head lining and also new carpets in the boot and a boot bag. As this is a 1984 car this may have had both carpet or a boot bag for the luggage compartment, and this car had actually got both of these features. It has its tool kit and jack, plus original spare wheel. The radio is a 1984 Pioneer Berlin period fully working and top of the range for the vehicle. This is a mega original Esprit Turbo where the only non-original parts are the upgraded speakers!
Fresh from our restoration shop, it has had a paintwork refresh throughout, the gold coloured BBS wheels have been fully refurbished, various rubber trims renewed and an in depth mechanical run through. She is now ready to grace any collection, indulge the boy hood fantasy or just hit the open road and boost towards the horizon in pure 80’s style.
